Take The Seated Model Pledge In 2026!

By pledging to use seated models on your website in 2026, you’re showing your commitment to accessibility and inclusivity!

In 2021, when I started using my wheelchair, I was already facing a huge self-esteem crisis.

When I realized that some of my favorite clothes no longer fit me the same way because of my wheelchair, that issue skyrocketed. Dresses I had previously felt sexy in, outfits I had once felt powerful in, cozy sweaters that had once brought me comfort, now made me feel self-conscious, angry, and downright sad.

But when I turned to fashion magazines and clothing ads for inspiration on how to dress for my new situation, there were no seated models, no wheelchair users, and no blueprints for how to style my new life.

Shopping online became a game of expensive guesswork. An outfit that looked effortless on a standing model became a tangled mess in my chair. Dresses were either too long or too short, waistbands were cut in the wrong place, or the fabric bunched awkwardly around the middle.

The solution is simple: use seated models in clothing ads.

This isn't just about the disability community. Almost everyone spends a portion of their day sitting. Seeing how fabric moves and drapes in a seated position benefits everyone.

Inclusion starts before we buy. By taking the pledge to use seated models in their ads in 2026, you’re committing to changing the future. Representation matters. This is how we change the world!
